Support for variable resolution streams in windows phone 7

Is there support for variable resolution streams on Windows Phone 7 for Smooth Streaming?

I'm trying to encapsulate a video with different resolutions (and variable bit rates) in one SMIL file, but am having some playback issues on Windows Phone 7 using the MediaElement API.

According to this page (http://blogs.iis.net/vsood/archive/2010/12/04/iis-smooth-streaming-encoding-for-windows-phone-7.aspx), this is not supported, but this is dated in 2010, so I just wanted to double check.
